Why California?
After deciding a few years ago that I wanted to live in california, I have
received alot of quesions as to "why do you want to leave Eugene and move to
California?" Since there are so many reasons, I have created this page to
answer that question.
-
Well this one is obvious . . . Sunshine! I can't tell you how sick I am
of the nine months of rain a year in Oregon.
-
People, races, places. Eugene is a small, boring city that claims racial
diversity and harmony but EVERYBODY IS WHITE. California on the
other hand is large, has a great night life, and whites are a minority!
-
Silicoln Valley. There are no jobs in Eugene, at least not for real $$$.
The best Web programming jobs are in California.
-
Music. California is the where the best music in the world is created.
The bay area is where Too $hort, The Dangerous Crew, The Click, The Luniz,
and numerous other superstars have grown up. Eugene is full of hippies
and hicks, I don't want to hear any more Phish, Ska, or country!
-
Tahoe, Yosemite, and skyscrapers. Eugene has only a few buildings over
10 stories tall, and they all seem to be retirement homes. I think there
is some kind of law against tall buildings here. If you can't grow tall,
the city's going to fall. Some of the best senic locations in the world,
and they are all close the the bay!
-
Trafic, cars and lowriders. Many would say this would be a negative point
about California, but I love driving, and I could spend all day watching
the pimped out boomin rides roll down the strip.
-
Palm trees, beaches and blondes. Need I say more?
